Harvest Hours

A cozy pixel farm that only grows while you focus. Start a pomodoro, get back to work, and watch your crops sprout, your animals settle in and your little farm come alive, one focus session at a time.

Description

Harvest Hours is a little farm that lives on your screen while you study or work. Start a focus session and your farmer settles on the bench with a book while the crops grow, minute by minute, for as long as you stay focused. Take your break, harvest what's ready, plant something new, and head back in. There is no pressure: plants never wilt, and a skipped session only costs you its bonus.

Every focused minute earns experience that unlocks new crops, animals and corners of the farm. Every harvest earns gold for seeds, animals and decorations. Slowly, session by session, an empty patch of grass turns into a farm that is completely yours.

Features

  • Crops grow only during completed focus minutes, so the farm is a picture of the work you've done
  • 21 crops and thirty levels of unlocks, then a Golden Garden; chickens, cows, sheep and bees, then pigs, geese and horses across the river; an orchard, a vineyard and a windmill
  • A pond and a stream with 11 kinds of fish to catch on your breaks
  • Neighbours with orders, letters with little gifts, and friendships that grow a heart at a time
  • Horses to name and ride on your breaks, through the village and round the market square, by day or by moonlight
  • A town that grows with the farm: four buildings to fund, twelve weekly requests, then festival nights of sky lanterns and fireworks
  • Over 150 decorations, garden paths, flower beds and fences, layouts to switch between, firefly jars, a farmhouse makeover, a character creator and a kitten to adopt
  • A little town next door whose neighbours walk over to visit, and a waterfall at the edge of the farm
  • Day and night follow your real clock; lamps and windows light up after dark and rain comes and goes
  • Built-in focus tools: a tunable pomodoro timer, tasks, habits, notes, a daily goal and a calendar of focus days
  • Desktop mode: the farm floats over your desktop as a little island or a long panorama while you work, sized by dragging a corner, on top of your windows (without stealing focus from the app you are typing in) or behind them
  • Nineteen original lo-fi tracks, with a study radio that plays while you focus, and fifteen seasonal records (five each for spring, Halloween and winter)
  • Four seasons on the real calendar (cherry blossom, summer fireflies, falling leaves, snow) with Halloween and Christmas over them, or any look picked any day; on summer Saturdays an ice cream cart comes to the village
  • A photo mode with seasonal frames, and a card of each week (focus time, sessions, harvests and the farm) to keep or share
  • 63 achievements, Steam Cloud saves, ten languages

History

Harvest Hours started in September 2026 from a simple wish: to make studying and working feel like tending something that grows. The pomodoro technique already splits the day into small focused blocks; the game turns each one into a few more minutes of sunshine on a pixel farm. It is made in Unity, its music and sound effects are original, composed in Picotron and PICO-8, and the farm is drawn on the Cute Fantasy pixel art pack by Kenmi.
